fun find friday: busy bee

Before and After
I figured since I was a completely irresponsible blogger today and swam with a good friend of mine who was in town instead of snap some pics of my next fun find(next week I will show you...it is a good one) I could do a fun before and after of a custom dresser I just did for a client!
Hope you enjoy!

fun find friday

i·kat/ˈēkät/
Noun: Fabric made using an Indonesian decorative technique in which warp or weft threads, or both, are tie-dyed before weaving.
My defenition: yummy yummy!
This fabric looks good with everything! It works with florals, plads, stipes, solids....you name it and it looks good with Ikat. It is a great way to add some deapth and visual interest to the style you already have going on in your home!

This little beauty was actually a discoverd by my friend Jessica. She wanted it for her house and when she got it home it didn't work!! (yay for me...sorry Jess) She found it at DI for 20 BUCKS! I fell in love the moment I saw it....didn't you?

I have to confess though, that the first time I heard of Ikat was on my all time favorite show Sarah's Summer House. She used it on pillows in two of her rooms and I couldn't believe I had lived this long with out knowing about it!
 Sarah's guest room

This little beauty is by all means the exact defenition of Ikat

uuuugggghhhhh....black and white will always make my jaw drop!

 Is Ikat the new damask??????
I think it might be for me....what do you think?

rustic dresser

                          ..........................................SOLD..........................................
So I finally did it....I made a boy-ish piece of furniture! I love this piece, from the shuttered door to the highly distressed wood finish. It would (as I hinted earlier) be perfect for you little boys room or it would add a fun rustic touch to any of the more feminine rooms in your house! Inside the shutter door is a two tiered shelf for lots of storage and also has 4 deep and spacious droors. It is very sturdy and well made.  It measures 19"deep, 50"wide and 32"tall. I am asking $195.00. If you are interested in this piece call me

vintage door/chalk board

.....SOLD....

So here is a darling door that I have re-finished in this fun striped pattern! The insets are painted with chalk board paint and the rest is striped with a cream and green and then glazed with a black glaze. I added the super beautiful old door knob and then topped it all with polyurethane! This would make a great and completely unexpected addition to any home decor! It is 18"wide by 79"tall and I am asking $85  for it! If you love it and want it call me at 480-298-0715 or email me at bennettjade@gmail.com

fun find friday

So a few weeks ago I was picking up a dresser I bought to refinish...and this little dream was just leaning up against the wall!! Well after 3 days of stalking my local goodwill (apparently they can't just let me have it? it has to go thrught the whole stocking process, I even offered the guys $20 bucks to turn around while I stole it...his loss!) I now own it and have big plans for it to rest on a buffet in my kitchen! We are moving in August so I will show you how it looks when I get it in there.

 Before

 After

Here are some other inspiring tin mirrors! There is no better way to give your home some rustic glam then with an old tin mirror.

curvy cream desk

..........................................SOLD....................................
This desk is by far my favorite one I have ever made (ok so I say that every time but I mean it this time ;)) It is so feminine and curvy. I painted it a classic ivory color and then aged it with an antique glaze. I sanded around some of the curvy edges to let some of the original gold paint come through. I kept the original hardware and just rubbed it with a little black paint to perk it up! This piece measures 62"long, 33"tall and 17"deep I am asking. If you love it and gotta have it you can call me at
480-298-0715 or email me at bennettjade@gmail.com Thanks so much.

p.s. My give away will be happening Monday for sure so make sure to check back in!
